The college admissions counseling provided by Ellen Richards Educational Services, focuses on each unique student-from the first evaluation and goal setting meeting until the day they receive their college acceptance letters. Recognizing that a student’s application carries more significance than just letter grades and test scores, Ellen Richards Educational Services works with students in preparing a dynamic application. With the support and guidance from Ellen Richards Educational Services and our admissions consultants, students highlight their passions and prove their future contributions to the college community. Our specially designed program empowers students to break free of the stale uniformity of the application process and express their individuality in a way that makes them stand out from thousands of other applicants.

Process

An Ellen Richards Educational Services admissions consultant will meet with the student for an initial consultation. At that time we will evaluate the student’s hopes and expectations regarding school choices, as well as the student’s school transcript, background, test scores, and extracurricular and leadership activities in order to determine the correct strategy for your family. From this starting point we develop a deadline oriented plan for test preparation, resume building, college lists (including safety and reach schools), campus visits, essay writing, and interview preparation. As students work to meet the established goals, an admissions consultant ensures not only that deadlines are met, but that students have ownership of the process and feel empowered. Sessions vary in frequency and length depending on the goals and the level of self-motivation of each student.
